Moose are actually the largest member of the deer family. This bull is a small specimen of an adult male moose. When photographing moose (or any animal) don't get too close! Although moose are usually quite docile, they have been known to attack people who annoy them. This is doubly true when you are dealing with a cow with a calf (or calves). This photo was taken along the Glenn highway near Glennallen.
